    • Good information as always!
      Thanks Ronnie

    • what key are you in

    • key of C on the harmonica…as always unless i say differently. sorry about the dogs barking, it was the UPS man with my new amp..more on that soon!

    • I love when the UPS man comes to my house.

    • i love these videos :) your help is great. I havnt played harp in a few weeks i really need to get back on it

    • Cool work man i just really gotta work on my tongue flutter, but don’t know how lol

    • Nice. Good advice, thanks.

    • so do you use your tongue for warbles, thanks keep it up dave

    • yes for a tongue warble but not always..you can just do a head shake and that is also considered a warble.

    • thanks ronnie enjoying the vids

    • in your previous lesson you stated that there are levels of beginners. Like stages…beginner, advanced beginner…I am assuming that this weeks lesson descibes an advanced player and not an advanced beginner?

    • intermediate check list here not advanced.

    • I was wondering if you could do a lesson on octaves after you finish your checklist series. I would really appreciate that.

    • What about the old timers when they would say you have to live the blues to play them, do you think that accounts for anything nowadays. I certainly have a hard time in life and probably didn’t use the breaks I got playing wise, you think by being down and out that gives a person say more soul and some other person or it still just matters the quality of time you put into the instrument will come out, I have certainly practiced alot too. Wanted to know your viewpoint on this?

    • cool

I have a thought on rocrndaddy”s question(below)Bluesplayers who”ve had nothing but good luck must do “Bragging blues”like Gangster of Love or Hoochie Coochie Man.

    • I believe that to a certain extent this might be true..but practice and purpose in your playing can really bring it to life. I find that when I play i always try to tap into real emotion (happiness, sadness, frustration, etc) and let it out through my instrument. It helps to have enough technique, timing and phrasing to accurately express what we feel inside.

    • That sounds good. Well played my friend.

    • Ronnie, I have been learning the harp since fathers day this year and i found your site today and it has changed my whole perception of the harp. i am so unbelievably impressed with your ability but also your demenour and you sound like a great bloke. I live in australia and have a wife who’s very musical and the harp has given me a new appreciation of music. Mate, seriously, congrats on your postings cheers and good luck!

    • According to Butterfield (track 29 on his Masterclass CD), in a tremulent the tone stays the same and in a vibrato the tone changes. Looking back at your video on vibrato, tone does not change. So, what technique is Butter referring to when the tone changes?? Warble?

    • Not a warble…he calls those Trills…
