I know Steve Miller and Norton Buffalo in real life, my dad grew up with them, so I get to go backstage and I go to dinner with them, they are the nicest people

Is this the concert with Greg Kihn, Doobie Brothers and Steve Miller and Norton Buffalo in San Fran? If it was, I was there, about 20 rows from Mr. Miller himself.

Oh, Oh big ol’ jet airliner
Don’t carry me too far away
Cause it’s here at the Fox that I’ve got to stay
Goodbye to all my friends at home
Goodbye to people I’ve trusted
good bye to Norton buffalo -
