Nice track!! But I was wondering, can if one has a c-harp then can it be played along with this? Are there scales or specific notes like on the guitar? Thanks for any answers, I am new at the harmonica.

    • yea bro a c-harp would sound great. you can always play the blues in the fifth of the harmonicas key, its called 2nd position playing or cross harp. try this pattern over the one chord: +3 -4 (+3) -3 +3 try this over the four chord: +4 +4 -3 +4: back to the one chord pattern and heres my favorate lick for the 5-4-1 turn around in a twelve bar blues: +3 -3 +4 -4 -5( try rolling between the 4 and 5 draw) then a rundown of the minor pantatonic: +6 -5 -4 +4 -3 +3. good luck.

Thanks, but what do the symbols (+,-) (blow draw?) mean, and why are some in parantheses? Yeah im a real noob.

    • + = blow, – = draw, ( ) = optional. good luck!

    • Thanks a lot.

Perfect for begun whith Diatonic Harp !

    • Anybody know either what scales to play,or what harp to use for playing blues in the key of E?
      Really appreciate any help
      thanks

    • For blues in the key of E you need an F major diatonic harp (the 10-hole one, called the blues harp), you play it in the “2nd position” also called cross harp. Search the net for how to hold the harp for blues playing (i mean for those vibrato and other tone-changing tricks with hands). For playing blues in some key, you always need a harp tuned a perfect fifth lower (a perfect fourth higher, it’s the same).

      • Hey, am I an idiot? How could I say F? I’m sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking about when I was typing that… Fifth down from E is A, of course.

    • If you’re going to be playing blues in E, you want an A harmonica

    • use a A that fits. An easy way to memorize what harp you need is to imagine the notes on a Guitar. Just keep the fret and jump one string higher. So E -> jump one string higher: A

    • go with a harp in A. work the pentatonic scale.

    • A harp normally to play cross hard. look at adam gussows earlier lessons to get started. His youtube name is “kudzurunner”. Also, in case you didn’t know, this track is in G

    • I just made a harp track using this backing music for private use not commercial but anyone is welcome to use my harp music for whatever they want. check out my channel for the video it should be up in 30 mins.

    • What is your email address?

    • catchy background

    • really nice !!
I tried playing along with c harp using mic plugged in to the kareoke function on dvd player to give an amplified blues harp sound with echo…sounds nice
      cheers

    • great backing track, thank you for this

    • very nice, thanks :)

    • thanks for this:)
i sound like i can play:)

    • If this is in G, wouldn’t you play 2nd position cross harp in C?

    • Yeah. Use a harp that’s tuned 5 half steps higher than the song.

    • Thanks!

Great BT, helps the playing a lot.

    • Thanks for posting.
I’m diggin harpin along with this one. Just completed one of David Barrett’s books so I have a bunch of good new 12 bar solos to work with. Nice!

    • @sinisha61 Amplified blues sound from a karioke machine? :)
      Which karioke machine?
      Maybe I shouldn’t have spent 200 quid on a custom JT30 …

      -2 -3b +4 -4b -4 -5 +6 6ob +7 70d -8-9 +9
two octaves of cross harp blues scale

    • I like how the guy is playing his harp backwards

    • Some exceptional thoughts here. Have you been convinced that is the suitable option to look at it even though? My own personal encounter is the fact that almost everyone would be wise to quite considerably reside and let reside due to what a particular man or woman thinks just — an additional guy purely doesn’t. Human beings are going to do what they choose to do. Within your end, they continually do. Probably the most we can pray for is to highlight a few details here and there that hopefully, makes it possible for them to produce just a small improved informed selection. Otherwise, terrific write-up. You are without a doubt creating me believe!

    • I’ve been thinking the exact similar point myself recently. Glad to determine an individual on the similar wavelength! Wonderful guide.

    • I assumed it was planning to be some unexciting old report, but it really compensated for my time. I most absolutely will submit a link to this submit on my web site. I am convinced my site visitors are planning to get a hold of that actually practical.

    • Some exceptional thoughts below. Are you convinced it is the suitable strategy to appear at it though? My personal particular expertise is that all of us should fairly very much reside and let live due to the fact that what single someone thinks just — yet another man basically doesn’t. Human beings are planning to do what they prefer to do. From the end, they frequently do. The most we can pray for is usually to highlight a couple of factors right here and there that hopefully, enables them to produce just a tiny better informed choice. Otherwise, tremendous submit. You are undeniably generating me imagine!
