  • Michael Peloquin – Jazz Harmonica Summit

Posted on July 22nd, 2010 Ellwood 9 comments

Here’s Michael Peloquin doing his electrifying rendition of this Clifford Brown tune at the 2009 West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit. Jeff Massanari: Guitar, Sam Bevan: Bass, Bryan Bowman: Drums. After playing two absolutely gorgeous ballads on chromatic, Michael whipped out one of his trusty diatonics and blew everyone away with this number. As is typical of Michael, there’s lots of extra helpings of killer chops, tone, and soul. This is a preview of the upcoming DVD featuring eight jazz harmonica artists. The West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit was filmed in front of a live studio audience on August 10, 2009 at the Digital Media Factory in Santa Cruz, CA, USA and was produced by harmonicist Slide Man Slim. • Footprints, Wayne Shorter – Diatonic Harmonica Jazz

Footprints is a beautiful tune composed by Wayne Shorter, present on a great Jazz album : Adam’s Apple. I play it on a C blues harp, as usual. The tune is mainly based on two chords : Cm and Fm, and the theme is not too difficult. The Play-Back comes from Aebersold n°54. I hope you’ll like it …
