Michael Peloquin – Jazz Harmonica Summit
Posted on July 22nd, 2010 9 commentsHere’s Michael Peloquin doing his electrifying rendition of this Clifford Brown tune at the 2009 West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit. Jeff Massanari: Guitar, Sam Bevan: Bass, Bryan Bowman: Drums. After playing two absolutely gorgeous ballads on chromatic, Michael whipped out one of his trusty diatonics and blew everyone away with this number. As is typical of Michael, there’s lots of extra helpings of killer chops, tone, and soul. This is a preview of the upcoming DVD featuring eight jazz harmonica artists. The West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit was filmed in front of a live studio audience on August 10, 2009 at the Digital Media Factory in Santa Cruz, CA, USA and was produced by harmonicist Slide Man Slim. HARP LESSON 4
Posted on July 28th, 2009 2 commentsHarmonica lesson four – a simple “trill” (spelling?), and putting together the basic stuff from Lessons 1-3…. After this one, you should be able to put together a pretty decent 12 bar blues solo… The 4 skills that you will now have: (1) the basic blues riff (2) inhale bending on hole 1 & 2 (3) and after this – the trill… deadly! Hope this helps. MA
